Life During Wartime

This is Neil Young's new album. He recorded it earlier this month, and it should be streaming by the end of the week. Wow. It looks like music with a message is alive. And so is the spirit of putting out music without a detailed market plan. I'd hate to have to wait until Christmas to hear this one.

Leave it to Neil to stand up and say something. He's said he kept waiting for the younger bands to step forward, but none of them did. Sure, At War With The Mystics by the Flaming Lips certainly has it's political overtones. As does Josh Ritter's latest one. But still, subtlety isn't working, and it looks like Neil is going to deliver. I just hope it's not too cheesy.
